Donna McGill, M.Ed., L.P.C.
Donna McGill sees clients at Wishing You Well Counseling Center on evenings and weekends. She is a graduate of Mercer University (BA) and Virginia Tech (M.Ed.) and has been licensed as a Professional Counselor since 1981. Donna received training in Pastoral Counseling from Western State Hospital in Staunton, Virginia where she served as Assistant Chaplain. She has been trained as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for abused and neglected children. Community involvement has included participation on the Suicide Prevention Coalition and membership in Mental Health America.
She works primarily with adult men and women. Donna says, “My work as a counselor is to help people reduce the suffering in their lives so that they can feel empowered and motivated to focus on matters that bring them meaning, fulfillment, and joy.” All of her life, Donna has been fascinated by dreams. Thus, she has spent over thirty years of study and training in the area of dream work and the role that dreams play in people’s lives. Donna has successfully launched three sons into adulthood. When not at Wishing You Well, Donna works as a therapist at the Counseling Center at Lynchburg College where she has been employed for over 20 years. In her spare time, Donna enjoys gardening, drumming, and reading. |
